GENERAL PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
DriveMaster consists of the following principal elements:
- Road database
The road database contains all roads and addresses in the country. Route calculation that takes into account time-of-day factors and traffic factors on each individual road. Division by geographical area. Option to switch between journeys by car, minibus or delivery van and bus and lorry. The database is updated on a regular basis.
- Register module
Comprehensive register updating as a basis for booking, journey updates, customer relations and agreements, supplier registers with van and driver register, debit and credit, personnel register and all the specialist knowledge necessary for efficient, high-quality operation.
- Booking module
Master data on passengers, passenger addresses and booking of journeys. Master data for goods customers, addresses and goods type, booking of vehicle and trailer types and booking of journeys.
- Planning module
The algorithm for route planning is the heart of the system, whether you are transporting passengers or goods. The planning module pieces a route together on the basis of the entire updated documentation. Our product thus supplies both single route and multi-route optimisation.
Planning takes place either according to the customer’s agreed service parameters for transport of passengers or according to the goods customers’ time parameters with regard to earliest and latest collection/delivery, length of working day and driving via depots to the booked addresses.
The planning can handle parameters in relation to the goods in question, such as weight and size, as well as vehicle capacity. The calculations are performed quickly, so ad hoc journeys can also be handled. It is subsequently possible to manipulate the planning, so on the actual journey day itself, attention is paid to changes in the form of operational disruptions that concern the vehicles or drivers, and in relation to customers’ spontaneous changes to bookings.
Using traffic data in the road database, the system allows the calculation of very realistic driving times in relation to the journey undertaken. The GPS module in the vehicles allows the updating of statistical traffic figures that subsequently adjust the traffic figures, and in this way the vehicles automatically update the traffic data.
- Operation
Selected planning documentation transferred to planning in routes. Updating of driving orders and order dispatch. Checks concerning implementation of orders and the handling process performed via vehicle communication. GPS positioning. Track and Trace. Routes and runs are assigned free vehicles in a retrieval system. All changes to the booked journey are updated. The routes are replanned as per the changes.
Transport of passengers is upgraded to so-called fixed journeys, where data is inherited in a generation process. Booked journeys are always shown in a 60-day process in a Gantt module. In a graphic duty and vehicle module, vehicle capacity and driver shifts are updated. This also enables management of holidays, time off in lieu, sick days, etc. In another module, the planned journey is assigned to free vehicles. In one routine, carried out at night, a price module calculates the journey performed, while invoice documentation, payment documentation, driver hours, statistics and customer documentation is also updated.
- Vehicle communication module
Our vehicle PC consists of a pressure-sensitive screen with associated GPRS, GPS and GSM modules. It is possible to connect a tape printer or invoice printer. The position of the vehicle and navigation are shown against a map background. In addition, the current status of the vehicle’s journey in relation to what was planned is shown. Between driver and administration a fixed-text message system can be used. The PC transmits all data to the administration, where the journey history is updated and traffic data is collected.
- Documentation
Invoicing, payment, driver’s shift duration, passenger documentation for the customer, statistics and materials for the customer concerning future quotes.
